Living & Dining Room Progress

 Remember this post?

Oh the paneling...
Well, it's actually been done for awhile, but with all the house stuff, unpacking, summer, and work, I haven't gotten an update on our progress.

The day we closed we ripped out all the paneling upstairs.
Underneath, we found sheetrock (thank you God!!) but in addition to nailing the paneling, they also glued it.  So, when we took it off, there was pieces of sheetrock ripped off, black adhesive marks from the glue, and a lot of mudding and taping to do.
After ripping it all off

Bob (Mike's dad) took over with a lot of the grunt work to get it ready for the sheetrocker to clean it up.  Had to rip out all the nails, scape off ripped sheetrock, prime all the walls, and scrap the popcorn ceiling to replace it with orange peel.

While it was a pain, and long process to wait for it all to be done, still so glad we hired it out.

I love that the fireplace looks more grey then pink now
Entry way is so much brighter

2 colors meetin in corner

Ta Da!!

We went with two colors, both by Sherwin Williams.  The main color is Collande Gray, which has some brownish tones to it, and the large wall behind the couch, and down the hallway was Big Chill,  we wanted a shade of gray slightly lighter than the main walls since the hallway is so dark.

As you can see, we still need to replace the light fixutres and put up some curtains.
